To further strengthen bilateral cooperation
A partnership agreement has just been signed between the Industrial Equipment Maintenance Company “MEI” (a Sonelgaz Group subsidiary) and the Brazilian company Werner, Eggon and Geraldo “WEG” (its French branch), which specializes in the supply of global solutions for electrical engines, soft starters, controls, transformers, generators ... etc. Thus, MEI and WEG France want to further strengthen their bilateral cooperation in Algeria and then in neighboring countries.
Cooperation between WEG France and MEI is already materialized through maintenance, repair and expertise operations that range from standard overhaul to full engine rewind. With this new agreement signed on the sidelines of the International Exhibition of Water Equipment, Technologies and Services of (SIEE Pollutec) which took place from February 11 to 14, 2019, MEI had the exclusivity for the repair and after-sale service of Medium Voltage engines, following a validation process as a service center “WEG” approved for this type of engines.
Therefore, MEI will intervene on more than 400 engines deployed to date at Algerian refineries, according to repair procedures in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturer.
This agreement is expected to provide further impulse to further consolidate the strategic partnership between MEI and WEG, with a view to expanding this cooperation to other energy equipment (alternators, turbines, wind turbines, solar power plants). Through this partnership, MEI company not only has the exclusivity of MT WEG engines in Algeria, but is also better placed to support WEG France in projects in Algeria’s neighboring countries, and to intervene alongside with it in different areas such as: WEG solutions installations, the commissioning of engines, frequency inverters and electronic starters.
